Emily Jones Joins Beloit Athletics as Strength and Conditioning Coach

BELOIT, Wis. – Beloit College Athletics is excited to announce the appointment of Emily Jones as the department's new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Jones brings a robust background in athletic performance, program design, and coaching across various collegiate and private sector settings, poised to make an immediate impact on Buccaneer student-athletes.

"We are thrilled to have Emily Jones join our staff," said Director of Athletics, Dave DeGeorge. "Having a full-time strength and conditioning coach is a huge upgrade for our department. Emily's expertise, energy and desire to help athletes develop make her the perfect person to build our strength and conditioning program."

Jones arrives at Beloit with a strong foundation built on practical experience and academic achievement. Most recently, she served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at PowerHaus Fitness and Performance in Schertz, Texas. There, she designed and implemented individualized strength, speed, and conditioning programs for a diverse group of athletes, ranging from middle school to collegiate levels. Her work included integrating Olympic lifting techniques, focusing on long-term athletic development strategies, and providing tailored nutrition education and guidance.

Prior to her role at PowerHaus, Jones was a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Chico State from August 2022 to June 2024. In this role, she directed strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's Soccer, Golf, and Baseball, and also assisted with the Track and Field teams. Her responsibilities included programming and coaching team sessions aimed at improving strength, speed, power, and mobility. Jones was also instrumental in collaborating with coaches and athletic trainers to align training with competition schedules and recovery protocols, and she mentored undergraduate interns in coaching techniques and CSCS preparation.

Her collegiate experience was further enriched by an internship with the highly competitive University of Tennessee Football program during the summer of 2023. As a Strength and Conditioning Intern in Knoxville, Jones assisted in coaching sessions, monitored lifts, led warm-ups, and managed facility set-up and flow. She was notably selected to independently lead speed and agility drills for Kickers and supported training for various other position groups, gaining valuable experience in movement assessments, program design, activation strategies, and mobility coaching.

Jones's expertise is underpinned by a strong set of certifications. She is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a USAW Level 1 Coach, and holds CPR/AED certification. She previously held a NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification from 2020-2022.

Academically, Jones earned her Masters of Arts in Kinesiology in 2024 and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a Minor in Sports Performance in 2022, both from California State University, Chico.

"I'm incredibly blessed to help grow the strength and conditioning program at Beloit," stated Jone. "I can't wait to share my passion for athletics and performance training with all the athletes here and help them grow stronger, faster, and more confident both on and off the field."
