Beloit College Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Myles Bach as the next Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Cross Country programs. Bach, a decorated student-athlete and a rising star in the coaching ranks, brings a proven record of elevating programs and a deep commitment to student-athlete development.
"We are extremely pleased to have Myles Bach join our staff to lead our Cross Country programs," expressed Beloit College Director of Athletics, Dave DeGeorge. "Myles is energetic and confident. He will be a terrific coach, mentor, and recruiter."
Bach comes to Beloit from Washburn University, where he served as an Assistant Cross Country and Track Coach. In his most recent season, he was instrumental in guiding the men's cross country team to unprecedented success. The team achieved a 24th-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championships, the best finish in program history, and secured a 4th-place finish at the Central Region Championships, tying the program's best-ever regional performance.
"I am incredibly honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Beloit College Cross Country programs," said Bach. "Beloit's commitment to high-level academics and creating a supportive community for student-athletes is a perfect fit for my coaching philosophy. I want to thank Christy Denson and the search committee for their belief in my vision. I can't wait to get to work with the talented runners at Beloit and build a culture of dedication, improvement, and success."
Bach's coaching philosophy is built on a strong academic foundation. He is completing his Master of Arts in Education in Kinesiology and Sport Sciences with a focus on Coaching from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from UNK and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gonzaga University. This unique blend of sport science and psychology equips him with the tools to develop runners both physically and mentally.
Before his time at Washburn, Bach coached multiple state qualifiers at the high school level at Center Point-Urbana High School in Iowa, demonstrating his ability to identify and nurture talent.
As a collegiate athlete himself, Bach understands the dedication required to excel. He was a decorated runner at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, earning honors as a Spring 2022 NCAA Division II Academic All-American. His athletic resume includes qualifying for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field National Meet in the 10,000 meters, being a three-time USTFCCCA All-Central Region performer in cross country, and being a member of two teams that qualified for the NCAA DII XC National Championships. This firsthand experience provides him with invaluable credibility and insight into the life of a student-athlete.
