In 2019, Ted Soenksen announced the addition of William Affognon as an intern coach to the Buccaneer football coaching staff. He was to serve as the Defensive Line Coach & Video Coordinator. 

Prior to the 2022 Football season, Ted Soenksen announced the promotion of Affognon. He would now serve as the Offensive Line Coach, Video & Social Media Coordinator. 

As a native of Irving, Texas, Affognon came to Beloit after receiving his Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the University of Saint Mary in May of 2019. During his two years as a graduate student, Affognon served as both a Residence Life Graduate Assistant & a Career Services Graduate Assistant. Along with being a graduate student. he also held a position with the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as an Eligibility Representative.

During his playing career for the University of Saint Mary, Affognon was a football team leader, while receiving multiple different leadership awards. He was the recipient of the Leadership in Excellence Award three times, voted as a recipient of the Students Appreciating Students Award & earned Honorable Mention All-Kansas Collegiate Athletics Conference honors. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History in 2017. 

Along with his playing experience, Affognon garners extensive undergraduate and graduate leadership skills. Those include serving as the Student Body President for two years, a Student Senator (as a sophomore), a School Orientation Leader, founder of Campus Clean Up at the University of Saint Mary & playing an integral role in establishing eight new student organizations at his alma mater.
