The Beloit College men's lacrosse team suffered a 17-6 loss at Ohio Northern Saturday afternoon.
ONU controlled the game at midfield winning at 25 faceoffs in the game. The Bucs produced a flurry of shots for a 12-2 advantage in the fourth quarter but Ohio Northern registered a 37-22 advantage in the game.
Kevin Joswiak (Madison, Wis.) notched four points for the Bucs including two goals. His two assists bring his season total to six, tied for the team lead. Mark Gannon (Bellingham, Wash.) added three points on two goals and a helper.
Joswiak found the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season off an assist by Matt Lee (Oak Park, Ill.) with 9:54 mark in the first quarter. Michael Spencer (Portland, Ore.) was the next Buccaneer to score with 10:44 on the clock in the second. Joswiak tallied the assist. With 3:47 left in the third, Joswiak recorded his second goal of the game, this time on an unassisted scoring opportunity.
In the fourth, Andrei Prikhodko (Mukilteo, Wash.) caused a turnover, picked up the ground ball and went the distance stopping the clock with 11:42 remaining with his third goal of 2018. Gannon scored the final two goals for Beloit. The first on a man-up opportunity off an assist from Joswiak and the second off a helper from Michael Boyland (Madison, Wis.).
Up Next: The Bucs head to Elmhurst, Illinois to face the Bluejays at 7:30 Tuesday, March 27. Beloit's next home contest is slated for Saturday, March 31 against Benedictine at 1 p.m.
