The Beloit College men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season falling 15-9 to Southwestern in Georgetown, Texas Sunday.
Mark Gannon tallied five goals in the game as the Buccaneers outshot their opponent 41-33 in the game including a 29-15 advantage in the first half.
The Bucs trailed by just one, 8-7 at halftime but Southwestern posted seven goals in the final 30 minutes to register the win. Southwestern won the faceoff battle gaining possession 16 times on 27 tries.
Kevin Joswiak, Michael Boyland, Nick Meisberger and Andrei Prikhodko join Gannon in the goal scoring column while Boyland, Joswiak, Matt Lee, Gabe Pearlman and Michael Spencer added assists in the contest.
The Bucs will host Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Strong Stadium for their home opener.
