The Beloit College men's and women's swimming and diving teams were topped by St. Norbert College on the road Saturday afternoon. The final team scores were 155-106 on the men's side and 157-77 for the women.
Six Buccaneer men won their events led by Aaron Jolly's two event victories and a school record off the one-meter board for Wil Kangas-Olson.
Kangas-Lason totaled 469.25 to win the one-meter dive competition and break the program record. Jolly was tops in the 200-yard butterfly posted a time of 2:14.63 while teammate Brandon Washburn added points to the team total with a fourth-place finish in the event. Jolly's registered his second win on the day in the 100 fly where his 57.78 bested the competition by more than a second. David Morris and Washburn added fourth and fifth-place points in the event.
Joe Stephenson was the first to touch in the 50-yard freestyle posting a time of 22.74 and he was the top finisher for Beloit in the 100 distance of the stroke with a time of 50.91 for third.
Meshach Roberts was the third Buc to win an event with a time of 2:11.06 in the 200-yard backstroke. He added second-place points in the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.07) and 100-yard backstroke where just two-one-hundredths back from the top finisher.
Tenajh Gaitor led a group of three Bucs to register team points in the 200-yard breaststroke. Gaitor's 2:29.47 was the top time followed by Carson McDonald and Alan Brint in third and fourth respectively. Gaitor (1:06.61) and McDonald (1:17.36) also went 2-4 in the 100-yard breaststroke while Gaitor's 22.83 in the 50 free was good for third. Morris registered a fifth-place finish in the 50 with a time of 24.59.
John Rose III also took home a win with the top time, 5:49.59, in the 500-yard freestyle.
In the relays, the Buccaneer foursome of Roberts, Gaitor, Jolley and Rose III finished second with a time of 1:46.76 while Rose III, Morris, Jolly and McDonald combined for a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.70.
Eliana Ritt and Anna Bunzel led the Beloit women Saturday. Ritt posted two event wins on the day. Her 2:03.97 in the 200-yard freestyle bested the competition by nearly six seconds. Teammates Makenna Downing and Ana Kohout contributed points to the team total with third and fifth-place finishes in the event respectively. Ritt topped the competition by over six seconds in the 100-yard butterfly touching the wall in 1:04.18.
Bunzel took first in the 200-yard individual medley registering a time of 2:36.32 adding third-place points in the 100-yard backstroke behind teammate Alex Kohn's second-place finish in the event with a time of 1:06.71. Ritt, Bunzel and Kohn went 2-4 in the 200-yard backstroke led by Ritt's 2:24.67.
Beloit's Padyn O'Keefe was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke posting a time of 1:17.74 while teammate Valley StipeMaas finished fourth in the event. O'Keefe was also second in the 200-yard distance of the event with a time of 2:48.90, less than a second out of first.
Kaylie Williams (1:04.16) and Downing (1:05.86) finished third and fourth respectively in the 100-yard freestyle while Williams added fourth-place points to the team total in the 50 free stopping the clock in 28.94. Downing added her own runner-up finish touching the wall second in the 500 free and notching a time of 6:30.84.
In the relays, the Buc women finished second in the 200 medley relay as Kohn, O'Keefe, Ritt and Williams combined for a time of 2:01.80. The 200 freestyle relay foursome of O'Keefe, Downing, Kohn and Williams were clocked in 1:54.87 for second place.
