The Beloit College volleyball team fell to seven-time defending Midwest Conference champions Cornell 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-21) on the road Friday night.
The Buccaneers were outhit by an efficient Rams offense. Cornell committed just five attack errors in the contest hitting .511 compared to Beloit's .193. The Bucs had the upper hand from the service line and defensively at the net with a 6-3 ace advantage and a 4-2 tilt in blocks.
Eva Laun-Smith led Beloit with 13 kills and four aces. Laun-Smith tied teammate
Jade Mosquera for a team-high nine digs.
Jada Daniel registered two blocks, one solo and one assisted, to lead the Bucs at the net.
Up Next: Beloit will head to Grinnell to take on the Pioneers Saturday. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
