The Beloit College volleyball team wrapped up the 2019 season with a pair of losses at the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneers dropped the first match of the day to Elmhurst College 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-12).
Eva Laun-Smith led Beloit offensively with 13 kills adding 13 digs in the contest.
Paige Wimbrow tallied 16 assists and led the Bucs defensively with 18 digs.
Jade Mosquera posted two service aces while
Molly Muller and
Hope Nelson each recorded two assist blocks.
Beloit fell to Maranatha Baptist in the final match of the tournament 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-13).
Laun-Smith and
Amanda Baran each registered seven kills in the match. Muller led the Bucs defensively at the net with four blocks including one solo. Wimbrow tallied another double-double with 14 assists and 10 digs. Mosquera added two more aces to her season total and led Beloit in the backcourt with 15 digs.
The Bucs end the 2019 season with an 8-20 record.

The Beloit College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to open the 2019 Warriors Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College Friday evening.
The Buccaneers were swept by Concordia University Chicago (25-11, 25-13, 25-19) in their opener at the tournament. The Bucs hit just .054 compared to .311 for the Cougars.
Amanda Baran led the Beloit offense with eight kills while setter
Paige Wimbrow registered 16 assists. Defensively,
Jade Mosquera tallied eight digs in the backcourt.
In the Bucs' second match of the day, Beloit pushed five sets on UW-Superior but ultimately fell to the Yellowjackets 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 25-12, 26-28, 15-9). The Bucs held a 5-2 advantage in blocks but were outhit 68-50 in kills.
Eva Laun-Smith led all players with 21 kills adding a match-high three blocks and posting 17 digs in the contest. Baran joined Laun-Smith in double figures with 12 kills.
Jade Mosquera bolstered Beloit in serve-receive with five aces and held down the backcourt with 18 digs. Wimbrow tallied 35 assists in the five-setter.
The Bucs will wrap up play in the tournament with their final two matches of the season Saturday. Beloit is slated to take on Elmhurst at 12 p.m. followed by Maranatha Baptist at 2 p.m.
