The Beloit College swimming and diving team headed north for a double dual against Ripon College and North Central College hosted by Ripon Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneer men's squad topped both programs with a 131-65 win over Ripon and a 126-86 victory over NCC. The women's team split topping North Central 76-50 but falling to Ripon 153-38.
Beloit's men's 400-yard medley relay team was the first to come into the wall combining for a time of 4:01.53, topping the competition by nearly six seconds.
Tenajh Gaitor bolstered the Buc men's performance with two first-place finishes and a runner-up clocking. Gaitor was tops in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:10.62 while teammate
Max Saladar came in second in the event. Gaitor was also the first to touch in the 100 breaststroke registering a time of 1:06.37 and grabbed a silver in the 100 free with a time of 51.90.
Camden Leonard won two events Saturday with a time of 1:54.47 in the 200 free. He won the 500 free by over 17 seconds stopping the clock in 5:17.31.
Matt Shea and
Brandon Washburn also captured runner-up finishes with Shea's clocking of 1:05.44 in the 100 back and Washburn's 12:35.39 in the 1000 free.
Wil Kangas-Olson also saw his first competition off the diving board as the lone diver at the meet.
On the women's side,
Kaylie Williams and
Anna Bunzel led the squad with second-place finishes. Williams captured second with a clocking of 1:07.61 in the 100 free while Bunzel was timed in 1:11.56 in the 100 back.
The Bucs will head to Appleton, Wisconsin for the Lawrence University Invite Saturday, November 16.
