The Beloit College women's lacrosse team topped Concordia University Chicago 10-9 on the road Saturday to improve to 3-1 in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play.
A Fiona Milchman goal in the final minute of regulation led the Buccaneers to the win. Beloit was outscored 5-3 in the first half before tallying seven goals in the second half en route to the win.
Kieran Rodning opened the scoring beating the Cougar goalie on an unassisted goal at 26:18. CUC posted the next two goals before Nicole Dolcimascolo found Milchman for the equalizer at 17:51 to make it 2-2.
Olivia Nasatir halted a 3-0 Cougar run with an unassisted score in the final minute of the first half to pull Beloit to within two, 5-3, at intermission.
Dolcimascolo had the first goal of the final 30 minutes and registered the assist on Milchman's goal at 20:51 to knot the game 5-5. A CUC goal was followed by another unassisted goal from Dolcimascolo with 17:09 showing on the clock.
The Cougars took the lead with two goals in just over a minute before the Bucs took advantage of a player-up opportunity as Rodning beat the keeper to cut the margin to one at 9:19. The Cougars pushed the lead back to two with a goal at 7:38 but Beloit had the answer.
Milchman struck at the 6:10 mark finding the back of the net on an unassisted score. Dolcimascolo followed with another conversion on a player-up opportunity with under five minutes to go to tie the game 9-9.
As the seconds ticked away in regulation, Milchman tallied her fourth goal of the contest with just 47 seconds to go to lift Beloit to the win.
Milchman's four goals came on eight shots on goal to lead the Bucs. Dolcimascolo found the back of the net three times and added two assists in the contest. Rodning, Kaitlyn Tomasin and Dolcimascolo each registered four groundballs while Rodning added six caused turnovers.
Alexa Arakelian picked up the win on the mound recording 17 saves in the complete game in net.
