The Buccaneers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead as Sy Dragon sparked the offense with a goal off an assist from Nicole Dolcimascolo just over two minutes into the game. Fiona Milchman struck at the 26:03 mark and against just over 30 seconds later both unassisted scores to give Beloit a three-goal advantage. The Sabres got on the board with 24:29 on the clock but the Bucs rattled off three more in a row to follow.

Dolcimascolo, Kieran Rodning and Milchman each beat the keeper to make it 6-1 with 8:46 remaining in the half. Olivia Nasatir found the back of the net with just six seconds remaining in the first half to make it 7-2 at intermission.
