The Beloit College women's lacrosse team fell to Carroll 21-7 on a bitter cold night in Waukesha Wednesday night.
The number of goals scored was higher than the temperature during the game as the Pioneer offense posted the first eight goals of the contest.
The Buccaneers responded with a pair of goals as
Fiona Milchman found
Nicole Dolcimascolo for the score. Dolcimascolo then returned the favor on a fantastic pass to
Kieran Rodning who had found open space in front of the net. Rodning beat the Carroll keeper to make it 8-2. The Pioneers added a couple more before Dolcimascolo and Milchman teamed up on another goal, this time with MIlchman entering the scoring column with just 32 seconds left in the first half.
Rodning notched her second goal of the contest and tenth of the season 11 minutes into the second half and Dolcimascolo netted three more in the second half but the Bucs couldn't keep up with the Carroll offense.
Dolcimascolo tallied six points on four goals and two assists, adding seven groundballs and five draw controls to lead Beloit. Milchman posted a pair of assists and a goal for three points while
Kaitlyn Erickson highlighted the defense with three caused turnovers.
Alexa Arakelian registered seven saves in the complete game loss in net.
The Bucs will host Cornell College in the team's home and Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference opener Saturday at Strong Stadium at 1 p.m.
