The Beloit College women's soccer team has had a historical season so far and they aren't done yet. The Buccaneers topped Lake Forest College 1-0 Friday to advance to the 2021 Midwest Conference Tournament Championship. The battle for the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament will have Beloit facing tournament host and top seed Knox College Saturday at 11 a.m.

A defensive battle similar to that of the Bucs' and Foresters' regular season matchup, the stalemate wasn't broken until the 86th minute. Natalie Ortiz beat the LFC keeper off an assist from Makenna Downing for her fourth score of the season. That was the lone score of the game sending Beloit to the MWC Tournament title contest for just the third time in program history. 

Knox College advanced to the championship game with a semifinal win over Lawrence Friday morning. 

In the regular season meeting, the Prairie Fire notched the 1-0 victory handing Beloit's its sole conference loss of the season. Saturday's final will be the first time the Bucs meet Knox College in the tournament championship. 

Beloit will look to capture the first league tournament title in program history Saturday. The tournament champion will receive the MWC's automatic bid to compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
