The Beloit College softball team was swept in a pair of games at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers lost 3-0 and 8-0 (five innings) to a solid Green Knights squad.
Beloit was held to just three hits by the SNC starter, the reigning conference pitcher of the week, in game one. Brianna Arteaga,
Kaitlynn Taft, and
Isabel Johnson tallied hits for the Bucs.
The Green Knights scored all three in the bottom of the first after a Beloit miscue with two outs. The Bucs defense and junior pitcher
Maddy Pfortmiller held SNC at bay the rest of the way but struggled to get the offense going. Pfortmiller moves to 2-1 on the season after suffering the complete game loss.
The bats got going a bit more in game two for Beloit but the Bucs couldn't push runners across. Sophomore pitcher and leadoff hitter
Cora Aubert went 2-3 in the batter's box. Taft, a junior catcher was also 2-3 at the dish.
Aubert went 4.1 innings in the circle in the loss.
