The Beloit College baseball team improved to 14-2 in the Midwest Conference North Division with a pair of seven-inning wins at Lawrence Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers topped the Vikings 14-3 and 11-1, both games ending courtesy of the run-rule.
Beloit continued to surge offensively blasting 13 hits including five for extra bases in the opener. The Bucs plated four in the top of the first as
Nick Schmidt set the tone with the leadoff round tripper. The other three runs came on two walks and a hit batter.
The opening frame was all the Bucs would need but they added insurance runs in the third and fifth before blasting the game wide open with a six-run seventh.
Schmidt led the Buc bats with a 3-5 performance at the plate.

James Wicker,
Garrison Ferone and
Matt O'Leary all tallied two hits in the contest.
Kaiya Nishino picked up his second complete game win in as many starts striking out four while allowing just three earned runs. He is now 4-0 on the season.
Another big opening frame set the tone in game two.
Brett Kiger notched a bases loaded double to plate three followed by a
Deven Irwin RBI single to center and a
Drew Freitag RBi double down the right field line.
Another Kiger two-bagger to right center brought in another in the fifth before Beloit added five more in the seventh. Lawrence got on the board in the seven with a single run for the 11-1 final.
Kiger was 3-4 at the plate with four RBI to lead the Buc offense.
Tommy Murray tallied his first win on the mound with a complete game scattering just four hits across seven innings of work.
