The Beloit College football team fell to the University of Chicago 66-0 Saturday at Strong Stadium.
The Buccaneers struggled to gain momentum against the Maroons' high-powered offense and stifling defense.
Jacob Shafer was efficient from the quarterback position completing 11 of his 15 passing attempts. He spread the ball around hitting seven teammates during the contest including a pair of strikes to
Stanley Hyppolite for 25 yards.
Defensively,
Darrell Thornton Jr. provided a highlight forcing a fumble and recoving the loose ball early in the second quarter. Four Bucs tallied six solo tackles led by
Josh Shapiro who added a pair of assisted tackles for a team high eight.
Beloit will regroup with a bye week next Saturday before getting back onto the gridiron at Strong Stadium Saturday, October 2 against Grinnell College for the team's annual Homecoming contest.
