JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Beloit's women's soccer team moved into a third-place tie in the Midwest Conference standings Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 win at Illinois College. The Buccaneers also held a 24-7 shot advantage in the match.
Abbey Scott got the scoring started in the 26th minute with her first goal of the season on an assist from
Megan Thompson. Beloit (5-3-2, 3-2-0 MWC) would tack on an insurance goal in the 82nd minute when
Mikaila Davis scored her fourth goal of the year, unassisted.
Audrey Ketterer secured her fourth complete game shutout of the season with five saves in 90 minutes of work. Cassidy Tacker also played the entire game in goal for Illinois College (0-12-1, 0-5-0 MWC), recording seven saves.
Beloit will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll travel to UW-Platteville. That game is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Platteville, Wis.
