JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Beloit completed their 2022 football season Saturday afternoon with a 65-13 loss to Illinois College. The two teams combined for eight turnovers in the game, including six fumble recoveries.

Illinois College (5-4, 4-4 MWC) scored early and often in the first half, building a 35-0 lead before halftime. Trevor Smalls got the scoring started with an 11-yard run just five minutes into the opening quarter. They would score four more times in the second quarter, first on a 25-yard interception return by Matthew Guffey, before Collin Brunstein caught a nine-yard TD pass from Elijah Pollice, who would follow that up with an eight-yard scoring run with just over four minutes remaining in the period. Darrius Cooley capped the first half scoring with a 20-yard TD reception from Pollice just one minute later.

Smalls added another touchdown run early in the third quarter, finding paydirt from four yards out, before Donavan Richardson got Beloit on the board for the first time on a one-yard TD plunge, which capped an 11-play, 68-yard drive. Illinois College would get those points back later in the quarter when Pollice hooked up with KJ Corley for a 26-yard touchdown pass. On the ensuing kickoff, Beloit would add another score, as Gavin Thorpe recorded his second kickoff return touchdown of the season, taking this one back 82 yards for the score.
