RIPON, Wis. - Beloit's men's and women's swim teams each lost to Ripon College in their second meet of the season Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers men's team fell by a score of 107-40, while Beloit's women lost 111-81.
The highlight of the meet came in the one-meter six-dive competition, where Colleen Quinlivan set a new school record with a score of 185.30. Helena Harrison also eclipesed the previous school record in that event, but she finished in second place to only Quinlivan. Devin Cuffy-Bethel also had a good meet, winning both the 50 freestyle (27.28) and 200 butterfly (2:35.55), while also swimming a leg on Beloit's first-place 200 yard medley relay team, along with Kaya Martin, Nora Krystowiak, and Amelia Pullen, which finished with a time of 2:03.29. Krystowiak added a first-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:33.27, which was 20 seconds better than the second-place swimmer.
On the men's side, Colin Bolger took home the only individual first-place finish for the Buccaneers, winning the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:28.67.
Beloit will take next week off from competition, before resuming their schedule on November 19 in the Beloit College Quad against Illinois College, North Central (Ill.), and Ripon College.
