The Beloit College women's basketball team fell to Illinois College 78-54 Sunday afternoon in Flood Arena.
Sunday's contest came down to offensive efficiency. Both teams put up 57 shots but the Lady Blues dropped in buckets at nearly a 50-percent clip. The Buccaneers shot 40-percent from the floor hitting 23 of their field goal opportunities.
Illinois College took an early lead and built it over the first two periods to go into the interission with a 41-26 advantage. The Bucs put together their best quarter of the game on the other side of the break. Beloit hit 7-14 from the floor in the period while holding the Lady Blues to less than 20 points in the quarter.
Elizabeth Kalk registered a stellar all-around performance with 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, all team highs.
Addyson Ciochon also spread the ball around setting up her teammates on six buckets in the game. She added eight rebounds including five on the offensive glass.
Hadja Bayo led the defense with three steals.
