GALESBURG, Ill. - Beloit brought their conference record to the .500 mark Saturday afternoon with a four-set victory at Knox College. The Buccaneers won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-19, respectively, before dropping the third 21-25. Beloit then finished the match off with a 25-20 set four victory.
As a team, Beloit (3-10, 1-1 MWC) also held the edge in kills (45-38), service aces (14-10), assists (43-36), and digs (95-92). They also recorded a hitting percentage of .127, while Knox's hitting percentage was .078.
Cora Linos led Beloit in service aces (4), blocks (2), and assists (31), while
Katrina Sanchez led the team in both kills (14) and digs (24).
Jasmin Bowers also chipped in ith 12 kills, while
Angela Donath recorded nine, to go along with 21 digs.
Knox (4-7, 0-2 MWC) was led by Catessa Duran's 10 kills, two aces, and six blocks. Samantha Bergeron added 31 assists, while Emme Patton recorded a match-high 47 digs.
Beloit will try to build on that victory on Friday when they'll travel to Grinnell College. That match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Grinnell, Iowa.
