BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit lost to Finlandia University by a score of 82-60 Saturday night in a non-conference contest. Finlandia converted 51 percent (30-58) of their shots, including 36 percent (4-11) from 3-point range, while making 90 percent (18-20) of their free throws.
Beloit led 15-5 mid-way through the first quarter, when Finlandia answered with a 26-1 run to take a 15-point lead mid-way through the second period. The Buccaneers would trail 45-29 at halftime.
Beloit (7-13) was led by
Hannah Welte's 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting, to go along with four rebounds and seven assists.
Addyson Ciochon added 15 points and seven boards, while
Megan Thompson fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
Natalie Bartle led Finlandia (8-11) with 22 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Maija Rice added 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Eli Djerf scored 17 points.
The Buccaneers will jump back into conference play on Tuesday when they'll host Ripon College. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m. inside Flood Arena in Beloit, Wis.
