APPLETON, Wis. - This afternoon the Beloit College Football team headed up to Appleton, Wis. in search of their second win of the season. The Bucs (2-4,1-4) squared off against the Lawrence University Vikings (0-6, 0-5). The Buccaneers and
Jacob Shafer (Dixon, IL) put on an offensive clinic and matched their season-high, scoring 34 points.
Shafer used both his arm and legs to score this afternoon. He threw two touchdowns and ran for three more.
Scoring Plays:
- Shafer ran for the Bucs first TD, a one yard rush that capped off a five play, 71 yard drive. (7-0)
- Shafer threw a 34-yd TD pass to
Jeto-Rivar Sanon (Miami, FL) to put the Bucs on top 14-7.
- Shafer hit
Cooper Larrabee (Bow, NH) for a 15-yd TD to end their 1st drive of the 2nd quarter (20-7)
The Bucs led the Vikings 20-14 heading into the break.
- After receiving the 2nd half kick off, the Bucs put together a 10 play, 64 yard drive culminating in another 1-yd Shafer TD run. (27-14)
- The Bucs 5th and final touchdown came in the 3rd quarter as well, Shafer ran his final TD in, another 1 yard run on 14 plays and 49 yards.
The Buccaneers return to Strong Stadium next Saturday, October 21st. Kick off against Monmouth is 1 p.m.
