BELOIT, Wis. - In what was an emotional and high-stress game, the Beloit College Buccaneers unfortunately saw their season end with the loss to the Illinois College Blue Boys this afternoon. The Bucs (3-10-2, 3-3-2) who were celebrating nine seniors, needed the win to advance to the MWC tournament. The Blue Boys (10-4-3, 5-1-2) played spoiler and defeated BC 5-1.
IC scored their first goal in just the 3rd minute and added the second in the 26th.
Brady Wachholz (Nya, MN) cut the IC lead in half when he found the back of the net in the 47th minute. With what looked like a burst of momentum, the Bucs put the Blue Boys on notice but were not able to keep it going long enough. IC began to slam the door when they scored back-to-back goals to go up 4-1. After a BC goal got called back because of a handball, the momentum completely shifted in favor of IC and they took the 5-1 victory.
