BELOIT, Wis. - Last night the Beloit College Men's Soccer team traveled north to Appleton, Wis. for a MWC matchup with the Vikings of Lawrence University. The Bucs (1-7, 1-1) looked to carry the momentum of their first win of the season over into this game. The Vikings (0-6-3, 0-1-1) were looking to finally get in the win column.
LU held the edge in total shots (19-12) but BC was more efficient with their shots, putting 9 on goal compared to 3 from LU. Despite the SOG discrepancy, the Vikings got on the board first.
Senior goalie
Brock Bidwell (Rockford, IL) got sent off in the 42nd minute, forcing the Bucs to play a man down for the remainder of the game. Two minutes later, the Vikings scored their goal to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
Only a minute into the 2nd half,
Emilio Mendoza (Trementon, UT) netted the equalizer. He connected on a ball from
Derek Veenstra (Three Rivers, MI).
Bidwell made one save in his 42 minutes.
Henry Amini came in for the remaining 47:36 and made one save and gave up one goal.
The Buccaneers return to the pitch on Saturday, October 7th at home against Ripon. Kick off is set for 1:30 p.m. at Strong Complex Soccer Field.
