Bucs Fall To Edgewood In Final Game of the Season

BELOIT, Wis. - Beloit's men's lacrosse team played their final game of the 2023 season Saturday afternoon, losing to Edgewood College by a score of 12-5. Edgewood out-shot the Buccaneers 68-19.

Edgewood (6-10, 3-5 NACC) scored the game's first two goals, but Beloit's Jordan Rice cut that lead in half on a goal with four minutes remaining in the opening quarter. Edgewood scored again to open the second, before Rice cut the lead to one once more on a goal less than a minute later. Edgewood then scored the next three goals, before Beloit (2-12, 1-7 NACC) scored the final two goals of the half, coming from Emmet Morgan and Brenon Reed, to cut the lead to three entering halftime.

The Buccaneers continued to put up a fight in the second half, as Jeffrey Battle scored a goal just 30 seconds after halftime to cut the lead to two. That would be all the scoring Beloit would do in the game however, as Edgewood put the game away with three goals in the third quarter and two more in the fourth.

Rice led Beloit with two goals, to go along with one assist. Edgewood was led by Lake Rewey's three goals, while Avery Bugaj and Tyler Stockwell each scored two.

At Goal Keeper, Eric Seo played the entire game for the Buccaneers, recording 22 saves, which is tied for the third-highest single game total in program history. His 173 saves this season are also the third-most in program history. Edgewood's Luke Quakenbush also played all 60 minutes between the pipes, saving eight shots.
