Box Score BELOIT, Wis. - Earlier this afternoon the Beloit Women's Volleyball team kicked off the 2023 season with their first match of the Gio Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland. Wasting no time testing themselves, the Bucs faced the 19th ranked Wittenberg Tigers. BC fell in three straight sets, 14-25, 10-25, and 15-25. 

Jasmin Bowers (Richmond, Texas) led the team offensively, recording 5 kills. Abbie Schmidt (Buckley, Ill.) was the team leader in assists with 7 while McKayla "Maka" Simao (Sparta, Wis.) tallied 11 digs. 

The Bucs continue play in the invite with two matches tomorrow. They face the host team, #9 Johns Hopkins at 1pm ET and cap off the weekend against #1 Juniata at 3pm ET.
