JACKSONVILLE, IL. - The Beloit College Men's Soccer team closed out their 2024 season this afternoon in Jacksonville, Illinois against the Illinois College Blue Boys. The Buccaneers (2-16, 1-7 MWC) fell to the Blue Boys (13-4-1, 7-1-0 MWC) by the final score of 1-4.
The Buccaneers fell behind 0-2 in the first twenty minutes of action before they settled in for the remainder of the first frame. The Bucs drew a penalty in the box and
Brendan Drager (Albuquerque, NM) buried the penalty kick to cut ICs lead in half. With about three minutes remaining in the half, the Blue Boys extended their lead again, 3-1. Illinois College closed the door for good when they scored their fourth goal in the 85th minute.
Henry Amini manned the goal for all ninety minutes for Beloit, making seven saves, a career-high.
