Swim and Dive Collects Two Wins Over Ripon

RIPON, Wis. - The Beloit College Swim and Dive teams traveled to Ripon College this afternoon for their first away meet of the season. Both the men and the women defeated the Red Hawks, marking the first wins in Head Coach Dan Vale's early tenure with the Bucs.

Jeremy Mueller (Machesney Park, Ill.) continued his reign as one of Beloit's best swimmers, winning both of his individual events with impressive times. He dominated the 100 Butterfly with a time of 52.66 and won the 200 Freestyle in 1:44.96. Ethan Casler (Mundelein, Ill.) edged out the field in the 100 Free, touching the wall in 54.24.

Freshman Lydia Nordgren showed a strong performance in the women's 100 Butterfly, winning with a time of 1:00.65, a Beloit College record. Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK) also had an excellent meet, claiming victories in both the 200 IM (2:25.63) and 100 Freestyle (59.65). In diving, Helena Harrison (Chapel Hill, N.C.) led the Beloit divers, winning both the 5-dive and 6-dive competitions on the 1-meter board with scores of 172.60 and 226.40, respectively. Harrison's six dive score breaks the school record for the second straight week. Maclaryn Leonard (South Beloit, Ill.) displayed impressive speed in the sprint events, winning the 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.21. The Beloit women's team also showed their strength in relay events, with their A team winning the 200 Medley Relay in 1:56.70. Nora Krystowiak (Kenosha, Wis.) won both her events, the 200 Free (2:12.74) and the 500 Free (5:55.36).

The Buccaneers return home to Nicholls Natatorium on November 16th to host North Centeral and Milwaukee School of Engineering. The first events will begin at 1 pm.
