DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - The Beloit College Buccaneers dominated the Augsburg Universuty Auggies in a decisive 76-50 victory this evening. The Bucs (4-6, 1-2 MWC) took control early, racing out to a 46-19 halftime lead and never looked back.
Jabari Scuefield (Hazel Crest, Ill.) led the way for Beloit with 17 points on efficient 7-of-10 shooting from the field, while also contributing 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
Dae'Quan Davis (Chicago, Ill.) posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and
Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) added 15 points including three 3-pointers.
Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) also reached double figures with 13 points and 9 rebounds.
Beloit's defense stifled Augsburg (4-6, 2-1 MIAC), holding them to just 39% shooting from the field. The Bucs dominated the glass with a 42-28 rebounding advantage and forced 17 turnovers which they converted into 25 points. Beloit also controlled the paint, outscoring Augsburg 42-14 inside.
Andy Stafford led Augsburg with 13 points, while Conner Barney came off the bench to score 10 points. The Auggies struggled to generate consistent offense, managing just 19 first-half points before finding a bit more rhythm after halftime.
Beloit's largest lead reached 34 points midway through the second half. The Bucs shot 44.6% from the field for the game and were perfect from the free throw line, making all five attempts. The victory evened Beloit's record at 4-6 on the season.
The Bucs head back north and following the Christmas holiday, will host Carroll University for their final game of 2024. The Pioneers visit Flood Arena on December 30th with tip coming at 2 pm.Â
