BELOIT, Wis.- After making a huge push towards the post season, the Beloit College Women's Basketball dropped their final regular season game to fall just short of the tournament.
The Buccaneers (11-14, 8-8 MWC) fell in a heart breaker to the Lake Forest Foresters (7-18, 5-11 MWC) in the final minutes, 58-61. Beloit trailed by two, 16-18 after the first ten minutes before fighting back to take a one point, 33-32 lead into halftime. In a deadlocked second half, the Foresters held the lead over the Bucs over the final eight minutes of the game.
In 38 minutes of action,
Elizabeth Kalk (Clinton, Wis.) posted 19 points and 10 rebounds for fourth double-double of the season.
Marlee Young (Beloit, Wis.) posted ten points on 4-5 shooting from the field and three rebounds.
The 2023-24 season comes to an end for the Buccaneers but not before tying their best MWC record since the 2013-14 season and their most overall wins since the 2008-09 season when the won 15 games.
