Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Ends Historic Season in the NACC Championship

AURORA, IL. - The Buccaneers faced an uphill battle in their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Championship game in program history. They were tasked with taming the Aurora Spartans. The Spartans (12-6) yet to lose a conference game since joining the NACC in 2021. Unfortunately, this wasn't the Buccaneers (9-7) day and they fell to AU 20-7. AU out shot the Bucs 45-17.

After a back and forth first quarter that saw goals from Daisy Kleinhoffer (Minooka), Johanna McNair (Fishers, Ind.), Maya DeGeorge (Grand Junction, Colo.) and Maggie Mudd (St. Charles, Mo.), the Spartans closed out the first frame on a 5-0 run to take a 9-4 lead. Cassidy Felix (Bellflower, Calif.) cut the lead in half, 5-10 with a goal at the 12:04 mark. Mudd assisted on the goal, marking her second of the game. The Bucs offense struggled in the second, with Felix's goal being all they could muster. After 30 minutes of action, BC trailed 15-5.

DeGeorge and Felix netted the only two Buccaneer goals in the second half. DeGeorge's second goal of the game came in the third. With a man advantage, she wasted no time using it to her advantage and scored less than a minute into the quarter. After a Spartan foul resulted in a free position attempt, Felix buried the shot to score the seventh and final goal for Beloit in the fourth quarter.

Sofia Jeddeloh (Verona, Wis.) made 11 saves between the pipes for the Bucs.

The Buccaneers finish the season 9-7 overall and 4-2 in NACC play. Their nine wins mark the first time they have won that many since the 2015 season. Their four NACC wins are the most they've won since joining the conference.
