BELOIT, Wis. - The Beloit College Volleyball team hosted the Coe College Kohawks and the Rockford University Regents in a triangular this afternoon. Match one featured the Kohawks and the Regents while the Buccaneers (1-10, 0-0) took on the Kohawks (10-4, 0-0) for the second match and closed out the night against the Regents (5-2, 0-1 NACC).
The Buccaneers dropped their first match to the Kohawks 0-3. Coe came into the night 2-2 versus ranked opponents this season. The Buccaneers were swept 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.
Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, AZ) led Beloit with eleven assists and six kills.
McKayla "Maka" Simao (Sparta, Wis.) had eight digs and five kills and
Siddalee Meyers (Orfordville, Wis.) recorded seven digs, five kills, three assists and one service ace.
In their second match of the evening, the Bucs dropped the first two sets 25-13 and 25-12 but put together a big third set before ultimately falling 25-22 to the Regents.
Kaylee Witte (Poplar Grove, Ill.) led Beloit offensively in the second match, recording a team-high six kills. Simao littered the box score with nine digs, five kills and two aces.
The Buccaneers head up to Milwaukee on Friday for a match up against the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College. First serve from the Time of Grace Center is set for 6 pm.
