BELOIT, WI – The Beloit College Swimming and Diving teams opened up the 2025-26 season this afternoon, hosting Lake Forest and Ripon in an MWC double-dual. The young Buccaneers showed promise, securing four first place finishes.
In the men's events, Beloit's Jeremy Mueller (Loves Park, Ill.) was a standout performer, securing victories in both the 200 Yard IM (1:57.97) and the 100 Yard Freestyle (47.22). Mueller's dominant swims highlight his versatility and speed, making him a key asset for the Buccaneers. Teammate Jordan Hodges (College Station, TX) also contributed solid efforts, finishing 5th in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:55.81) and 4th in the grueling 500 Yard Freestyle (5:29.47), alongside a 4th place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Liam Murphy (Minneapolis, Minn.) added to Beloit's individual points, notably placing 4th in the 200 Yard IM (2:26.74) and 3rd in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:06.54).
The men's diving events saw Jacob Fuller (Beloit, Wis.) earning a respectable 2nd place in both the 1 meter Diving (146.35 points) and 3 meter Diving (140.35 points), showcasing Beloit's strength beyond the swimming lanes.
On the women's side, Kelsey Gerstler was a consistent scorer for Beloit, achieving 3rd place in the 200 Yard IM (2:30.22) and 4th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:17.32). Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK) displayed her endurance with a 4th place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:09.88) and a 3rd place in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:14.83). Amelia Pullen (New Orleans, La.) contributed a 3rd place in the 100 Yard Freestyle (59.04) and 5th in the 50 Yard Freestyle.
The Beloit women's team also saw good performances from Maya Delgadillo (Sioux City, IA), who finished 4th in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:19.25) and 6th in the 500 Yard Freestyle (6:16.38). In diving, Elsa Gregory was a shining star for Beloit, taking 1st place in both the 1 meter Diving (197.45 points) and the 3 meter Diving (187.70 points), securing valuable points for her team.
Relay events highlighted team collaboration. The Beloit College women's 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Murrah, Delgadillo, Pullen, and Gerstler secured a 3rd place finish with a time of 2:06.42. The women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, comprised of Mia Duran (Beloit, Wis. ), Riva Choudry (Evanston, IL), Norah Owens (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Lucy Monnig (Beaverton, Ore.), also competed, finishing with a time of 2:23.02.
The Buccaneers head to Appleton, Wisconsin on October 25th for a dual with the Lawrence Universiry Vikings. That meet is set to start at 1 pm from the Boldt Natatorium.
