RIPON, WI – The Beloit College Buccaneers women's volleyball team traveled to Ripon College this evening for their second Midwest Conference match of the season. The Buccaneers (2-12, 0-2 MWC) fell to Ripon College in three sets (11-25, 16-25, 15-25) at Weiske Gymnasium. 

Beloit's offense was led by junior outside hitter Kierra Rayne Hoover (Albuquerque, New Mexico) with 6 kills and just 1 error. Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, Ariz.) had 5 kills while also contributing defensively with 3 digs and an assisted block, showcasing her all-around presence on the court., while Kyra Suiter-Meyers (Orfordville, Wis.) added 5 kills and 3 digs.

Freshman setter Aaliyah Gerard (Aiea, HI) was instrumental in facilitating Beloit's attack, tallying 12 assists. Defensively, freshman Maddisyn Adams (Stockett, MT) led the team  with 9 digs while also recording 3 kills. Emily Ortiz (Aurora, IL) added 7 digs and 4 assists.

The Buccaneers struggled to find offensive rhythm against the Red Hawk (7-12, 1-0 MWC) defense, posting a .057 hitting percentage in the first set, improving slightly to .188 in the second, but finishing with a -.073 in the third. 

The Buccaneers stay on the road and head to Lake Forest, Illinois for an afternoon match up with the Foresters tomorrow. First serve from the Lake Forest Sports and Recreation Center is set for 1 pm.
