Football Falls to Illinois College on Senior Day

BELOIT, Wis. – The Beloit College football team wrapped up their 2025 season with a spirited effort against Illinois College, falling 38-7 in their final game. The Buccaneers (1-9, 1-8 MWC) honored their graduating seniors for their dedication and contributions to the program prior to kick off.

The Buccaneers' defense started strong, forcing an Blue Boys (8-2, 7-2 MWC) punt early in the first quarter. On their first offensive possession, Beloit managed a quick gain, but a fumble at the Beloit 25-yard line unfortunately halted their drive and gave IC a short field. Despite the setback, the defense continued to battle, limiting Illinois College to a field goal after a touchdown.

While the first half saw Illinois College build a lead, The Bucs found its offensive rhythm and a significant momentum shift early in the third quarter. Just ten seconds into the third quarter, Jonathan Williamson (Bridgeport, CT) broke free for an electrifying 65-yard touchdown run. With John Connolly (Stuart, FL) successful kick, Beloit narrowed the deficit to 9-7, igniting the home crowd. This powerful run underscored Williamson's impact as a key back for the Buccaneers.

On offense, Williamson was a standout, not only with his long touchdown run but also with his overall rushing performance, accumulating 71 yards on just 3 carries, averaging an impressive 23.7 yards per attempt. Quarterback Ben Parker (Las Vegas, NV) completed 7 of 17 passes for 74 yards, with his longest completion going for 54 yards. AJ Williams (North Las Vegas, NV) was a primary target, hauling in 2 receptions for a significant 67 yards, including that 54-yard pass play.

Defensively, the Buccaneers were led by strong efforts from Ayouba Sumoaro (Las Vegas, NV), who tallied 9 total tackles (8 solo, 1 assist), and Michael Snow (Parkland, FL), who recorded 8 total tackles (2 solo, 6 assists). Quentin Schane (Newcastle, OK) also contributed significantly with 7 total tackles. Michael Hext (Brookfield, WI) and Suan'te Moreno (Grayson, GA) showed their disruption capabilities with 0.5 sacks and 0.5 tackles for loss each.

Despite the loss, the Buccaneers fought until the end, particularly evident in their defensive efforts and moments of offensive explosiveness. The Senior Day festivities provided a poignant moment to celebrate the graduating class, whose leadership and commitment have been instrumental to the program. The Buccaneers will look to build on the experiences and individual performances from this season as they prepare for the future with their young roster.
