BELOIT, Wis. — Powered by a scorching shooting display and a dominant first-half performance, Beloit College defended their home court at Flood Arena on Wednesday night, defeating Eureka College 77-63.
The victory improves Beloit's record to 2-3 on the young 2025-26 season, while Eureka falls to 1-5.
While the final margin was 14 points, the Buccaneers controlled the tempo for the vast majority of the contest, thanks largely to a standout performance from forward Semaj Roy (Chicago, Ill.) and a barrage of three-pointers that the Red Devils struggled to answer.
Roy was the catalyst for Beloit on both ends of the floor. The fifth-year combo guard posted a game-high 20 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting from the field, including a deadly 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Roy also proved to be a force in the paint, pulling down eight rebounds and converting 7-of-11 from the free-throw line.
Roy wasn't alone in the offensive onslaught. Beloit finished with four players in double figures. Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) played a marathon 36 minutes, contributing 16 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds while acting as the floor general. Thomas Glenn (Waukesha, Wis.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 50% from three-point range. Dae'Quan Davis (Chicago, Ill.) provided a spark with 11 points and 7 rebounds, helping Beloit control the glass.
Trailing briefly to open the game, the Bucs exploded offensively, shooting 51.7% from the field in the opening half. They utilized a 12-point scoring run—their best of the night—just before halftime to blow the game open. By the time the buzzer sounded for the break, Beloit had built a commanding 42-25 lead.
The Buccaneers' perimeter shooting was the difference-maker during this stretch. Beloit shot 44% (11-of-25) from three-point land for the game, compared to just 33.3% for Eureka.
Eureka attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, outscoring Beloit 38-35 in the final twenty minutes behind Andrew Coker's 14-point, 9-rebound effort. However, the deficit proved too large to overcome.
Beloit extended their lead to as many as 22 points (53-31) with 15:08 remaining in the second half. Although Eureka managed to chip away late, capitalizing on free throws and second-chance points, Beloit's defense held firm. The Buccaneers outrebounded the Red Devils 35-31 and recorded seven steals, stifling any genuine hope of a late-game rally.
