BELOIT, WI – The Beloit College Buccaneers concluded their 2024-25 basketball season with a 77-82 loss at home against the Lake Forest Foresters. The Buccaneers (9-16, 4-12 MWC) led by as many as 16 in the second half, but were unable to hold on against the Foresters (13-12, 10-6 MWC)
Azeez Ganiyu (Beloit, Wis.) led the Buccaneers with a strong performance, recording game-highs in both points (24) and rebounds (18). Ryan Nixon (Waukesha, Wis.)also contributed significantly with 19 points. Off the bench, Anthony Carter (Greenfield, Wis.) provided a spark scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
Despite a balanced offensive effort and a strong rebounding performance (46 total rebounds), the Buccaneers struggled with turnovers and their 10-16 free throw shooting.
The speed of the Foresters made a difference. They recorded 17 fast break points while the Buccaneers had 0. The Buccaneers however, had the clear advantage in the paint, outscoring LFC 40-34.
The game concludes Beloit College's season with an overall record of 9-16 and a conference record of 4-12.
