GRINNELL, Iowa - The 2025 Midwest Conference (MWC) Swimming and Diving Championships concluded with Grinnell College earning both the men's and women's team crowns. The Buccaneer Women took fourth place, marking their best MWC finish in over a decade. The men, took seventh.
The women were led by Freshman Lydia Nordgren (South Beloit, Ill.). For her record-breaking performances all season, Nordgren was named the MWC Newcomer of the Year. Nordgren who secured 3rd place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 53.32. Beloit's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Nora Krystowiak (Kenosha, Wis.), Lylah Murrah (North Pole, AK), Maclaryn Leonard (South Beloit, Ill.) and Nordgren put together a solid time of 3:45.47, giving them a fourth place finish.
For the men, standout performances included Jeremy Mueller (Machesney Park, Ill.) in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle. Mueller touched the wall at 45.46, for a fourth place finish.
While this concludes the 2024-25 team season, Senior diver Helena Harrison's (Chapel Hill, N.C.) season continues next weekend at the NCAA DIII Diving Regionals. More information to come.
