PLATTEVILLE, WI – Beloit College's volleyball team faced a tough challenge this evening, falling in three sets to UW-Platteville at Williams Fieldhouse. Despite a valiant effort, the Buccaneers were unable to overcome a strong Pioneer side, with set scores of 10-25, 7-25, and 13-25. The Buccaneers, now holding a 2-8 season record (0-1 MWC), showed moments of resilience against the Pioneers (6-5 (1-0 WIAC). 

In a match where offensive efficiency proved to be a deciding factor, Beloit struggled to find consistent rhythm. Key players for the Bucs included Kierra Rayne Hoover (Albuquerque, New Mexico), who led the team with 5 kills. Maddisyn Adams (Stockett, MT) led the Bucs with 6 digs and also hammered down two kills. 

Defensively, Beloit managed to accumulate 6.0 total team blocks, a testament to their efforts at the net. Individually, Naomi Murphy (Dubuque, Iowa) had two block assists, while Hoover, Selin Tufte (Clarkdale, Ariz.), Kawailehua Kapuni-Lankford (Hilo, HI) and Adams each recorded one block assist. 

The Buccaneers are back in action on Friday at Wheaton College for another tri match. They will face the hosts at 3 pm and the Illinois Tech at 5 pm.
