Lermer and Lasher Combine for a No Hitter Against Cougars

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – It was a day of absolute dominance for Beloit College in Winter Haven today. The Buccaneers put together a near-perfect performance, silencing the Minnesota Morris bats in a combined no-hitter while their offense exploded for 12 runs to secure a decisive 12-0 victory.

The story of the game was the historic effort on the mound. Starting pitcher Bryce Lermer (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) delivered a brilliant performance, tossing five hitless innings to earn the win. Lermer's command was sharp, striking out four batters while allowing only three walks.

Caleb Lasher (Albuquerque, N.M.) took over in the sixth inning to close out the game, maintaining the momentum by pitching two hitless frames of his own. Together, the duo stifled the Minnesota Morris lineup, holding them to zero hits, zero runs, and just four walks over seven innings of work.

While the pitching staff handled the defensive side of the ledger, the Beloit offense provided more than enough support. The Buccaneers pounded out 14 hits on the day, consistently pressuring the Minnesota Morris pitching staff throughout the contest.

Beloit's lineup was led by a trio of standout performances. Center fielder, Jack Alport (Arlington Heights, Ill.) set the tone from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a stolen base. Parker Krcmar (Waupaca, Wis.) was nearly perfect at the plate, tallying a 3-for-4 line, scoring three runs, and driving in an RBI with a double. Seth Brankey (Salem, Wis.) provided the power, going 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, and three RBIs.

The game remained competitive in the early stages, with Beloit holding a 3-0 lead through the first four innings. That changed in the top of the fifth, when the Buccaneers blew the game open with a five-run rally.

The inning featured a barrage of hits, including a double by Krcmar, an RBI double by Blake Nelson (Monument, CO.), and key RBI singles from Aiden Wood (Chandler, Ariz.) and Drew Hanson (Edgerton, Wis.). This explosive frame effectively ended any hopes of a Cougars comeback, extending the lead to 8-0.

Beloit tacked on another run in the sixth and three more in the seventh—highlighted by a two-RBI double from Brankey and an RBI sacrifice fly by Nelson—to cement the final 12-0 scoreline.

With the victory, Beloit College moves to 6-2 on the season, showcasing both their offensive depth and a pitching rotation capable of shutting down opponents entirely. They are back in action tomorrow morning at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale against Mount Saint Mary College at 10am ET / 9am CT.
