Kevin Canty will be entering his third season here at Beloit College and 14th overall coaching. He will be coaching the Wide Receivers and will serve as the programs Recruiting Coordinator. Canty began his duties on the Buccaneer Football Coaching staff on February 6, 2017. While at Beloit, Canty has filled many roles within the program since he has been here. Canty served as the offensive line coach, offensive coordinator and was the interim head football coach too.
Canty has had six All Midwest Conference and eight Academic All-Conference selections under his tutelage while at Beloit College.Â
A 2006 graduate of Wingate University, where he was a three-year letterman for the Bulldogs on the offensive line, Canty brings a wealth of experience with him to Beloit, including head coaching experience at the high school level and coordinating experience at the college level in the Midwest Conference with Lake Forest College. He has also coached offensive line at Brevard College in North Carolina, Canty was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Husson University in Maine, and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota as the offensive line. He began his coaching career at Wingate after graduating, working there for two seasons as the running backs and tight ends coach.
Most recently he was the Quarterback Coach and Offensive and Special Teams Coordinator at Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina. His head coaching experience came from two seasons at Hampden Academy in Maine, where his team reached the quarterfinals of the state championship.
Canty earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management at Wingate and his Master’s degree in Sport Administration at Nova Southeastern University in 2015.
An All-American at Wingate with over 30 starts on the offensive line, he was a starter in the East Coast Senior Bowl. During Canty's time with the Bulldogs the squad posted 23 victories.
Canty was selected to participate in the 2010 NCAA/NFL Coaches Academy. Canty has been an active member of The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2008, currently on the Summer Manual Committee and is an Executive Board Member of the Minority Football Coaches Committee since 2011.
Canty primary recruiting areas are Racine, Kenosha, and Milwaukee Counties in Wisconsin and Texas.
