Patrick Sanchez

Patrick Sanchez was named the Head Coach of the Beloit College Men's Soccer program in December 2022.

Sanchez brings a coaching philosophy centered on fostering the unique talents of the student-athletes at Beloit. "Working with Beloit College student athletes is motivating to me because of their optimism, gumption and creativity," says Sanchez. "In my opinion, soccer is the most exciting to play and watch when those same traits are simultaneously activated."

Prior to being elevated to Head Coach, Sanchez joined the program as an interim assistant coach during the 2022 season, where he helped the team go 2-4-2 in conference play for a fourth-place finish in the Midwest Conference standings, which is the program's best showing in conference play in nearly a decade. 

Prior to joining the Buccaneers, Sanchez served as the Director of Coaching for SC Wave-Walworth. He brings a wealth of experience to the program, having coached youth soccer on and off for 25 years, developing players at multiple levels.

A native of Portage, Indiana, Sanchez was a collegiate student-athlete himself, playing soccer for Valparaiso University. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a background that influences his creative approach to the game.

After playing Division-I soccer at Valpo, Sanchez served in the United States Air Force. Outside of coaching, Sanchez has worked as a systems engineer for a small consulting company that focuses on flight test, research and development, and avionics system integration for aircraft across all branches of of the military. He holds multiple certifications through the military and technical programs as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. 

Off the field, his interests are as creative as his coaching style. Sanchez enjoys painting, drawing, playing blues and jazz piano, and building airplanes for fun. His sports heroes include legends Walter Payton and Michael Jordan, as well as Elan Footerman, the Skee-Ball world champion.
