The Buccaneer men's lacrosse team allowed just one goal in an 11-1 rout of Monmouth College on the road Wednesday night.
The Bucs' defense allowed just 12 shots in the game while peppering the Scots' defense with 55 in 60 minutes of action. Beloit racked up a 37-14 advantage in groundballs, controlled the circle with 10 of 15 faceoff wins and forced 37 turnovers in the contest.
Beloit's lone goal allowed in the game came in the fourth quarter while the offense found the back of the net 11 times.
Kevin Joswiak notched the first two goals of the game at the 8:02 mark in the first quarter and with 10:08 on the clock in the second quarter respectively. The Michaels got in on the action with Michael Spencer finding the back of the net at 7:59 followed by two scores from Michaeal Boyland less than a minute apart to take the Bucs into halftime with a 5-0 lead.
Mark Gannon, Meisberger, Boyland and Eric Munoz added goals for the Buccaneers in the third quarter. Following the lone Scots goal, Avery Walter-Bailey and Andrei Prikhodko responded to extend the lead to the final margin, 11-1.
Boyland tallied six points in the game with three goals and three helpers while Joswiak added three points on two goals and an assist.
In net, John Murphy had the shutout through the first 30 minutes registering four saves to pickup the win.
