The Beloit College men's soccer team used three first half goals to bolster a 4-1 rout of Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneer offense put the pressure on the Viking defense with 24 shots in the contest finding the net four times.
Andrew Marchesi opened the scoring making good on a pass from Jose Gutierrez just over four minutes into the contest giving the Bucs an early 1-0 lead.
Gutierrez was on the scoring end of the next goal with Deji Agunbiade tallying the assist as Beloit took a 2-0 lead 20:45 into the first half. In the final minutes of the first half, Casey Wagner got in on the offensive action with a goal in the 41st minute.
The Vikings quickly responded with their first goal of the contest about a minute later.
In the second half, a miscue by the Vikings' goalie led to an easy chip in goal for Freddy Widmer, his second goal under similar circumstances in as many games. Widmer's goal in the 87th minute sealed the 4-1 win for Beloit.
Keeper Alex Lyon registered two saves in 90 minutes in goal for the Buccaneers.
The Bucs will return to Strong Complex Saturday, October 13 against Knox College. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
