The Beloit College women's soccer team fell to 1-1 in the Midwest Conference with a loss to Grinnell College 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the Strong Complex in Beloit.
The Pioneers found the back of the net three times in the first half with goals at 5:14, 11:17 and 44:06.
The Buccaneers got on the board at 72:37 on an own goal to cut the lead to 3-1. Grinnell wrapped up the scoring at the 85:56 mark.
Beloit outshot Grinnell 14-10 in the contest including 10 second-half opportunities. Genesis Dade and Courtney Ceurvorst combined for nine of the team's 14 shots in the game. The Bucs also had the advantage in corner kicks 7-3.
The Bucs will head to Mount Vernon, Iowa for the next league matchup up – a September 29 meeting with Cornell College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
