Sophomore outside hitter Eva Laun-Smith powered the Beloit College volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-15) sweep of Trinity Bible in the Bucs' final match of the Macalester Tournament. After a career weekend, Laun-Smith was named to the All-Tournament Team, the third consecutive week garnering tournament-team recognition.
Laun-Smith hammered down 17 kills hitting .393, added three aces, nine digs and a block assist in the match Saturday morning. In three matches at the Macalester Tournament in Minnesota, Laun-Smith hit .429 with 57 kills, an average of nearly five per set.
Amanda Baran added double digit kills against Trinity Bible Saturday with ten in 22 attempts without committing a single attack error.
Paige Wimbrow and Emily Stapay shared setting duties combining for 31 assists. Defensively Payton Carlock held down the back row with ten digs and Allison Faber led Beloit at the net with two block assists.
Up Next: The Bucs have wrapped up tournament play for the season. Beloit will head to Watertown to face Maranatha Baptist September 18.
