The Beloit College women's basketball team wrapped up play in the Music City Classic with a 76-40 loss to UW-Eau Claire in Nashville, Tennessee Sunday afternoon.

Matched against one of the best shooting teams in the country, the Buccaneers faced an early deficit as the Blugolds knocked down over 50-percent of their first half shots and went 9-11 from the charity stripe in the first 20 minutes to take a 44-22 lead into the half.

A big third quarter saw the margin widen to 66-29 before the Bucs outscored UW-EC in the final period 11-10.

Beloit shot 32-percent (16-50) from the floor and 23-percent (7-30) from three-point range in the game. The Blugolds, ranked fifteenth in NCAA Division III for team field goal percentage, made 49-percent (32-66) from the field including 60 points in the paint.

Shelby Kline led the Bucs with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals while Candace Cunningham dropped in nine points and grabbed five boards.

Beloit will return to their home court, and Midwest Conference play, to host Lake Forest College Wednesday, January 2 at 5:30 p.m.
