The Beloit College men's basketball team fell to Midwest Conference leader St. Norbert College 82-59 on the road Tuesday night. The Buccaneers fall to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in league play while the Green Knights improve to 9-5 and 7-0 in the MWC.
Tristan Shoup notched the opening layup of the game and Mason Jones dropped in a three-pointer to make it 7-5 with 16:22 left in the first half. The Green Knights responded quickly reclaiming the advantage and pushing the lead to double figures with nearly five minutes left in the first half. SNC led by 18, 44-26, at intermission.
The margin remained in double figures the rest of the way.
Jones led the Bucs with 13 points bolstered by a 3-4 performance from three-point range. Shoup tallied 11 points while Andrew Walters was just one point and one rebound shy of a double-double.
Beloit will head south for their next outing, a Saturday matchup with Monmouth College. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m.
