Davis' Late Goal Secures Bucs' Win

Mikaila Davis was able to find the back of the net with just minutes remaining to secure a 1-0 for the Buccaneers over Illinois College Sunday.

Beloit held the advantage in nearly every statistical category Sunday with the most important showing in the score line.

The stalemate that held through 86 minutes of play was broken by Davis late in the 87th minute. Kayla Erickson set up the goal with a perfect ball in behind the defense. Davis was able to get in behind the Lady Blues back line, settle the ball and fight off an IC defender before tucking the ball into the corner for the goal with 86:57 on the clock.

Davis bolstered the offense with three shots, all three on goal, and the scoring shot in the game. Morgan Goodyear added two shots, both on goal in the contest, while three more Bucs registered shots on goal in the game.

Audrey Ketterer tallied five saves in the complete game in goal for Beloit.

The Bucs will return to Beloit and host their final three games of the 2019 season beginning with a match against Ripon College Saturday, October 26. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m.
